Dear friend, as Psalm 16:8 says, “I have set the Lord always before me; because He is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken.” Just like an elder brother who is always by the side of his sisters wherever they go, so is the Lord by our side. My own elder brother, Mr. Sundarraj, was always with us—my sister and me whenever we went shopping. One day, as we were out, he overheard someone criticising us. Without hesitation, he grabbed the collar of a young man and firmly scolded him, saying, “How dare you speak against my sisters?” We, the sisters, hadn’t even heard what was said against us, but because of my brother’s love, he stepped in to defend us. My brother protected us, and those who had spoken against us quickly ran away.

In the same way, the Lord will be with you like an elder brother. To have God at your right hand means having Him near to defend and protect you. The Bible says in Psalm 109:31, “For He stands at the right hand of the needy one, to deliver him from his accusers.” With Him by your side, you will never be shaken. The Lord is not far from you; He is so close. As it says in Psalm 139:5, “He will hedge you behind and before, and He will lay His hand upon you.”

But what must we do to have God at our right hand? We need to cultivate the habit of prayer, of reading God’s Word, and of giving praises to Him. When we do these things, the Lord will always be with us, standing at our right hand. The NIV version beautifully puts it, “I keep my eyes always on the Lord.” This is how you can keep your eyes on Him—by maintaining an attitude of constant prayer, by hiding the Word of God in your heart, and by continually praising Him. This is what David also meant when he said, “I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise will always be on my lips.”

Dear friend, do not drift away from God, not even for a moment. If God is for you, who can be against you? Keep the Lord always before your eyes, at your right hand, in front of you, and behind you. May His mercy surround you. Love the Lord and treasure His Word, for God’s ways are always secure and full of joy. May He fill your heart, your mind, your work, and your home. May He be present in every part of your life, breathing His strength into you, dear friend. Make a firm decision today to keep God always before you.

Loving Lord, I come before You, grateful for Your constant presence by my side.Just as a loving brother defends and protects, I trust in You to shield me from all harm. Help me, Lord, to keep my eyes always fixed on You, knowing that with You at my right hand, I will never be shaken. Strengthen my heart to remain steadfast in prayer, to cherish Your Word, and to continually offer praises to You. Surround me with Your mercy, Lord, and guide me in every step I take. Fill my heart, my mind, and my home with Your love and peace. Let Your strength breathe life into every part of my being. Let me never drift from Your presence, but always keep You close. I trust in Your protection and love, now and always. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
