Dear friend, according to Psalm 40:17, may the Lord think of you and bless you. Here, David says, “I am poor and needy; may the Lord think of me."

My friend, we often say, "We are so needy and poor." Being "poor and needy" means that we are in need of God and in need of God's blessings. In Psalm 46:1, David said, "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble." He also said, "Therefore we will not fear, though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling. God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved. God will help her." When morning comes, many things may happen around us, but God is always with us. David also said, 'I have kept the Lord always before me; because He is at my right hand, I will not be moved.' So even if we may feel poor and needy, the Lord is always thinking about us and is in the midst of us. There may be storms or troubles all around us. The whole world may forget about us, but the Lord is thinking about His people. He thinks about His humble ones. When things go wrong on our side, even at that time, we may humble ourselves before God and cry out to Him for His presence to be with us. The Lord thinks of those humble ones.

Look at the life of Job. When he was wealthy, the world thought about him and respected him. But, when he lost everything in his life, even his close friends blamed him. However, Job was not perturbed by this. He did not lose heart because he had the confidence that God was with him in the midst of his troubles. In Job 7:17, he says, “What is man, that You should magnify him, that You are concerned about him.” In verse 18, he adds, “That You examine him every morning and try and test him every moment.” See how the Lord thinks about us! He thinks about us every morning and in every moment. As Job put his whole confidence in the Lord that He is thinking about him every moment, the Lord rewarded him and blessed him in double measure. He got back everything that he lost in double measure.

You may wonder, "Is the Lord thinking about me?" The answer is yes; God is thinking about you, dear friend. Wherever you are, God knows whatever you are going through. God knows, and He sees! Jacob also says this about the Lord in Genesis 32:10, "I am unworthy of all the kindness and faithfulness the Lord has shown to His servant. I had only my staff when I crossed this Jordan River, but now I have become two camps." Yes, the Lord is thinking about you to bless you in double measure. Today, you may feel like you have nothing in your hands, but the Lord is thinking about you to bless you doubly. His thoughts are higher than our thoughts. So, expect a double portion of God's blessings in your life today.

PRAYER:
Heavenly Father, let Your mighty hand come upon me to bless me in double measure. For all the troubles and shame I have faced, I ask for double honour, double praise, and double blessings. You are the God of restoration. Your word promises that those who look to You will not be put to shame. So, today, I pray that You will turn every shame and curse into a blessing for me. Help me to experience Your goodness in double measure. Let those around me witness Your greatness and blessings at work in my life and turn towards You. Thank You, Lord, for pouring out Your blessings upon me. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
