Dear child of God, I greet you in the name of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. As we begin this new year on the 2nd of January, I wish you a very happy and blessed New Year. May the Lord speak to you and bless you abundantly. Today, let us meditate on Isaiah 58:11. It says, “The Lord will guide you continually, and satisfy your soul in drought, and strengthen your bones. You shall be like a watered garden and like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.”

David believed this promise deeply and prayed a simple yet powerful prayer that we see in Psalm 31:3, “Father, You are my rock and my fortress; therefore, for Your name’s sake, lead me and guide me.” My friend, though this is a small prayer, it holds significant power. As we stand at the beginning of this year, let us pray this prayer every day, every single moment, and see how the Lord moves in our lives.

What happens when you pray like that? Look at Psalm 23! It overflows with blessings. But to receive such blessings, what must we do? We must make the Lord God Almighty our Shepherd. He must be our everything - our leader, our guide, and our fortress. Hallelujah! My dear friend, do you have such a life? Are you walking in close communion with the Lord? Can you confidently say, “He is my fortress”? If so, then you will experience all of God’s abundant blessings throughout this year.

Keep the Lord as the head of your family. Gather together every day as one family, remember God, and claim His abundant blessings daily. If you do this, the promise in Isaiah 58:11 will come alive in your life. The Lord will guide you continually, strengthen you, and satisfy your soul. He will go before you and make everything beautiful in His time. Will you commit your life to Him today and pray this simple but powerful prayer like David?

PRAYER: 
Precious heavenly Father, as I begin this new year, I surrender my life to You. You are my rock, my fortress, and my good Shepherd. Please lead me, guide me, and strengthen me each day. Satisfy my soul in times of drought and make me like a watered garden that never withers. Lord, I place You as the head of my family and my life. Help me to walk in close communion with You, trusting Your guidance in every step I take. Fill me with Your abundant blessings and make everything beautiful in Your perfect time. Let Your presence guide me continually and refresh me daily. Thank You for Your unfailing promises and everlasting love. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
