My dear friend, today we are meditating on Ephesians 2:18. It says, “Through Christ, we both have access to the Father by one Spirit.” When I read this verse, I was reminded of something we see in our daily lives. When we go to work, many of us are given an access card to enter the building. Our employee ID and records are tied to that access card. Every time we open a door, we have to scan that card to gain entry. It tracks when we arrive, how long we work, and when we leave.

But what happens if we lose that access card? One day, if you come to work and realise you left it at home, you will need a temporary card to get in. However, that temporary card won’t be tied to your employee ID. It won’t carry your records, and it won’t truly be connected to you.

In the same way, we have access to the Father through Jesus Christ. In Him, all our records are kept. Everything we have done in secret, whether good or bad, every sacrifice we have made for His name, the time we have spent in prayer, the ways we have served others, and how we have shared the gospel, all of it is recorded. And Jesus presents those records before the Father. On the final day, God will see all that you have done for Him and will reward you accordingly. But many people lose that access to Jesus. Instead, they seek a temporary fix through drugs, alcohol, friendships, or worldly pleasures. Yet, these things can never truly connect them to God. They are only temporary substitutes that leave no lasting record.

However, when we remain connected to Jesus, the only true access to the Father, He leads us to heaven, the ultimate reward. He gives us a whole new life with purpose, meaning, and abundant blessings. So today, will you choose to connect yourself with Jesus?

PRAYER:
Loving Lord, I come before You with a heart longing for Your presence. Thank You for giving me access to You through Jesus Christ. Please help me to remain connected to Him and never to seek temporary substitutes. Strengthen me to walk in obedience and serve You with all my heart. Let my prayers and my love for others be pleasing to You. Let my life reflect Your glory and bring others closer to You. Fill me with Your Spirit, leading me to the eternal reward You have prepared. In Jesus’ name, I commit myself to You today. Amen.
