Hello, my dear friend. It is such a joy to connect with you as we step into this brand-new year! In 2025, God has a special promise for you, and today’s promise is from Psalm 121:5, “The Lord watches over you. The Lord is your shade at your right hand.”

Yes, my friend, the Lord is watching over you. Whenever harm approaches, you can find safety and protection in the shadow of the Almighty. Imagine parents accompanying their children at a playground. At first glance, they may seem inattentive, casually observing from afar. But the moment their child is in danger, about to fall from the swing or the slide, they rush in and catch them before harm can touch them. Though they might seem distant, they are always watching, always ready to rescue. In the same way, the Lord is watching over you. You may wonder, “Is God really watching me? Does He see what I’m going through? Why does He seem so silent?” But, my dear friend, rest assured that even the smallest inconvenience in your life draws His attention. He will rush to your rescue and catch you before you fall.

Just as we seek shade to escape the harsh rays of the sun, the Lord is your shade, providing protection from all harm. Remember how He cared for the Israelites in the wilderness? By day, He sent a pillar of cloud to shield them from the scorching desert sun. In the same way, He is always with you, guarding you, ensuring that no harm will come your way. He will rescue you and be your shade.

So, my dear friend, be of good cheer! Do not doubt His care. Don’t ask, “Is God watching me? Does He know what I’m going through?” Trust Him completely, for He is your ever-present protector. He will come to your rescue and be the shade at your right hand. Shall we thank Him today and claim this wonderful promise?

Loving Lord, thank You for being the ever-watchful God who never leaves my side. I praise You for being my shade and protector, shielding me from all harm. Even when I feel unseen or unheard, I trust that You are always watching over me. Thank You for rushing to my rescue in times of trouble and catching me before I fall. You are my comfort and shelter, just as You were for the Israelites in the wilderness. Help me to trust in Your presence and promises, even when life feels overwhelming. Fill my heart with confidence and joy, knowing You are my mighty protector. Let me always find refuge in Your shadow, no matter the challenges I face.
