My dear friend, God has a special promise for you today. It’s from Psalm 147:14, “He grants peace to your borders and satisfies you with the finest of wheat.”
When I read this verse, I am reminded of the life of Ruth. During the time of famine in Ruth and Naomi’s land, they heard that Judah was once again yielding crops. So, they journeyed back to Naomi’s homeland. Reflecting on this incident, I imagine Naomi must have had her share of doubts. Perhaps she wondered, “What will people say about me when I return to the place I once lived?” She might have anticipated questions like, “Where is your family? Are you coming back only for food?” Surely, she would have had to face the scrutiny and criticism of her relatives and the people around her.
Yet, even in the face of this, Naomi held tightly to God and returned to Judah. And what do we see? God blessed both her and her daughter-in-law, Ruth. Ruth, though a foreigner in the land, worked diligently and earned respect. She cared for her mother-in-law, and together, they experienced peace within their borders and were satisfied with the finest of wheat. Ruth’s blessings didn’t stop there; she was blessed with a good family life, and their family was honoured as their names were recorded in the genealogy of Jesus. In the same way, my dear friend, you may be stepping into a new chapter of your life. Perhaps you are moving to a different place, starting a new business, or beginning a new family life. You might feel uncertain and ask, “What will people say about me? I’m new here. How will I manage? Where will I find support?” You might even feel alone and worry about how to face the judgment and words of others.
But take heart, my dear friend. God will grant you peace in all your borders. He will provide the right resources and bring the right people into your life - wonderful friends, a supportive community, and all the help you need. God will satisfy you with the finest of wheat, and you will lack nothing. Just as Naomi trusted in God, trust Him fully. He will bless you with peace and satisfy you with the very best. So today, don’t be afraid. God will be with you every step of the way.
