“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given.” This is God’s promise found in Isaiah 9:6. As we celebrate Christmas, rejoicing in the coming of the Lord Jesus, let us reflect on this powerful truth that He has been given to us. Can you say from your heart, “Lord, You came for me. You have been given to me. You were born into this world for my sake. Thank You, Lord. I receive You as mine.” What a joy it is to know that Jesus is ours! Imagine a child fondly playing with a toy. When another child enters the home and tries to take it, the child immediately says, “This is my doll. My mommy gave it to me.” Similarly, we can boldly declare, “Jesus is mine. God gave Him to me.” Yet, just as we have received Jesus, He also calls us to share Him with others.
As I Timothy 3:16 says, “The secret of godliness is God coming down in flesh.” Believe this truth, Jesus Christ is God who came to us in human form. Though He is called the Son of Man, Son of God, and many other names, know this - He is God in flesh. Receive Him as God who came for you personally. Jesus was born so you could have life. Don’t let Christmas be just a celebration of His birth on a long-ago day. Say, “Jesus was born for me. He has been given to me.” As John 1:12 promises, “To all who received Him, He gave the power to become the children of God.” When you receive Jesus, you become a child of God.
Let me share a beautiful testimony. Soundra Pandian from Tuticorin lost his father at just two years old. Growing up with two brothers and no mentor, he fell into a life of sin. By the age of 15, he was brewing illicit liquor, fighting with everyone, and living as a gangster. One day, while travelling from Tamil Nadu to Kerala to settle a dispute, his nose began bleeding uncontrollably. Doctors told him he had lost 99% of his blood, had severe organ damage, and his life was in danger.
While lying on his deathbed in the hospital, he had a vision of Jesus on the cross. Though he had no faith in Jesus, he cried out, “Jesus!” Jesus spoke to him, saying, “Son, do not be afraid. I died on the cross for you. I will give you peace. Sin no more.” Miraculously, the bleeding stopped immediately, and his life was transformed. He began listening to sermons by my father, Bro. D.G.S. Dhinakaran and following Jesus wholeheartedly. Though he couldn’t read, he meditated on Psalm 91. Over time, he married, had children, and became a faithful servant of God, sharing his testimony and partnering with Jesus Calls. Today, he continues to testify about Jesus and watches the Family Channel with his family. The Lord, who was born as a child, became his Father.
Yes, dear friend, the Lord Jesus is ready to become your Father. Say to Him, “Father, You were born for me. You have been given to me.” Receive Jesus today.
PRAYER:
Dear Lord, thank You for sending Your Son, Jesus Christ, into this world for my sake. I rejoice because Jesus has been given to me as my own to receive eternal life and hope. Lord Jesus, I receive You as mine, my Saviour and my King. Help me to live as Your child, reflecting Your love and truth to others. Thank You for calling me into Your royal family and giving me the power to become Your child. Let my life be a testimony of Your grace and a light for those who do not know You. Teach me to share the good news of Your birth with boldness and joy. I dedicate myself to You, Lord, and celebrate this Christmas as a reminder of Your unconditional love for me. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
