Dear friend, today is a day of rejoicing! We are about to receive God's mighty hand of blessing upon us. Let’s look at Zechariah 2:8, where God declares, "For whoever touches you touches the apple of His eye." These words, spoken by an angel, reveal how God cherishes us. He equates us to the apple of His eye—His most treasured possession.

We hold such a high place before God. He considers us so precious and so valuable. Isn't that amazing? Yet, when troubles arise, we often question, "Has God forgotten me?" We look at those who humiliate or deceive us and feel utterly alone, wondering if anyone will stand by our side. But here, in this verse, the angel reassures us: "Whoever touches you touches the apple of His eye."

A family welcomed a baby boy and, at the same time, brought home a little puppy. As they grew up together, they became inseparable. The dog followed the boy everywhere, guarding him like a loyal friend. One day, the mother scolded her son for his mischief, but what happened next surprised her. The dog began barking fiercely at her, jumping in front of the boy as if to protect him. She realised the depth of the dog's love and possessiveness for the child.

That is the heart of our God. So possessive of us and so full of love. He cannot bear to see us insulted or harmed. When we are wounded, His heart bleeds for us. The verse goes on to say, "The Glorious One has sent me against the nations that have plundered you." God rises up for us, sending His angels against those who wrong us. But more than that, when we experience shame or hardship, He avenges the situation by blessing us abundantly. Every trial we endure brings greater blessings from God. Each time we suffer, He lifts us higher, increasing us beyond measure. Whoever touches us touches the apple of His eye, and God Himself avenges us.

PRAYER:
Dear Lord, I come before You with a heart full of gratitude. Thank You for calling me the apple of Your eye and cherishing me so deeply. When trials arise, help me to remember that You are my defender and refuge. Rise up for me, Lord, and turn every shame into blessings beyond measure. Send Your angels to fight for me and silence those who seek to harm me. Let me find rest in the assurance that You are always watching over me. I surrender my battles to You, believing that You will lift me higher and make me victorious. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
