Dear friend, I am filled with excitement today, eagerly anticipating the blessings that God is about to pour upon us. As we see in Exodus 17:15, “The Lord is my Banner.” Jehovah Nissi—The Lord, my Banner.
When the Lord becomes our symbol, and when His name is the symbol on our banner, fear trembles, and mighty things begin to happen. My grandfather once had a divine visitation. An angel appeared and took him to witness the depths of hell. There, he saw various demons and, at the very centre, the throne of satan. Seated upon it, like a counterfeit of God’s throne, satan was scheming with his demons, plotting how to take control of nations and deciding which men they could inhabit to carry out their plans. As their discussion continued, the angel turned to my grandfather and said, “Dhinakaran, now watch what happens.” Then, with just a whisper, he said one name, Jesus. That single whisper echoed through the halls of hell. The moment it reached satan’s ears, he leapt from his throne in fear and cried out, “Has Jesus come back to bind us once and for all?” At that very instant, the demons trembled and shook in terror. Such is the power of the name of Jesus! And today, He places that name upon you as a banner, showing that it is He who is with you.
So why should we be afraid, my friend? All we need to do is keep His name with us, honour that name, and never disown it. Let His name be the banner over our ministry, our presence in society, and even our workplace. When we carry the name of Jesus and strive to fulfill His will, challenges will arise. Attacks will come. The enemy will test us. People may say, “If you betray this person and speak falsehoods, we’ll promote you.” Others may insist, “If you pay this bribe, you can move forward.” These are the trials that test our faith - whether we would compromise or disown the name of Jesus.
But when we stand firm in His name, refusing to waver and keep the Lord as our banner, He will lift us up far higher than any man ever could. That is the blessing of having the Lord as our banner!
PRAYER:
Precious Heavenly Father, thank You for being my Jehovah Nissi - my Banner. Thank You for becoming my symbol. Your name is indeed the symbol on my banner, and I will not fear the attacks of the enemy, for You are with me as Jehovah Nissi to grant me victory. I lift the name of Jesus high above everything in my life. Let me never waver, never disown Your name, but stand firm in faith through every trial. Lord, please exalt me according to Your will so that I can glorify You in all that I do. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
