“The Sovereign Lord Helps Me; I will not be disgraced” (Isaiah 50:7). This is God’s promise for you. “I will not be disgraced.” This is the deepest fear many carry in this world — the fear of being disgraced. When we are unable to walk, when people look at us with pity or judgment, we feel so disgraced. When we cannot perform well in our work, or when we fail in our exams, we feel so disgraced. When we say the wrong things or when people distance themselves from us, we feel disgraced. When we fall into sin, our very soul calls us out, bringing shame and disgrace upon us. Yes, there are many things in this world that can disgrace us. When a couple is unable to have children, they often feel disgraced. When someone is without a job, a house, or a spouse, they feel disgraced. Oh, disgrace can crush the spirit. It has the power to kill dreams and hopes.
But that is exactly why Jesus came. He took on your disgrace. Though He was God, He chose the form of a servant. He humbled Himself, carried the cross before the eyes of all, allowed Himself to be wrongly condemned, allowed Himself to be nailed to the cross, to die, to be ridiculed by wicked men. Why? To walk through your disgrace. To understand your pain. But He didn’t stop there. He destroyed the works of the devil. He silenced the wicked words of wicked people. He destroyed death and rose again, alive forevermore! And now, the Bible declares: at the name of Jesus, every knee bows on the earth, under the earth, above the earth. Every sin bows. Every sickness bows. Every devil bows. Every debt, every oppression of wickedness—it all bows before Jesus.
Jesus said, “Ask anything, my child, in My name. I will give you whatever you ask. I will do it.” That is the grace He gives when we become His children. The Sovereign Lord will help me. I will not be disgraced. Today, turn to Jesus. For the shame you’ve endured, especially for His sake, He will honour you. In the same place where you experienced shame, He will give you praise and honour. Cling to Jesus. Keep Him as your Father. He will turn your disgrace into a double portion of honour. Jesus holds billions and billions of times more honour than the shame He endured, and He did it all to lift you out of shame. You don’t have to end your life. You don’t have to hide yourself away in sorrow. Come to Jesus and trust Him. He will turn your sorrow into joy. Yes, He will honour you before all people. Let not your heart be troubled.
Here is a wonderful testimony. Arokya Swami Christy Pushparani, a government school teacher, attended one of my meetings. I said, “Ask Jesus for perfect blessings. Everyone who asks will receive.” He was riding a small scooter that was in terrible shape. People mocked him for it. He couldn’t even carry his family to church. But in faith, he took those words to heart. He started learning how to drive a car and prayed, “Lord, give me a car.” Though he had no resources, God honoured him. He enrolled his children in the Young Partners Plan, his family in the Family Blessing Plan. Amazingly, God gave him a car! As he supported others through the Jesus Calls ministry, God also enabled him to buy a piece of land. God worked out everything. Today, they are secure. God will help you, too.
PRAYER:
Lord Jesus, I come to You, broken by shame, yet trusting in Your mercy. You took my disgrace upon Yourself and carried it to the cross. You understand my pain, my failures, my hidden tears. Today, I surrender my sorrow, my fears, and my past into Your hands. Lift me out of shame, and clothe me with honour. Turn my sorrows into joy, my weakness into strength. Be my Father, my refuge, and my hope forever. I believe that I will not be disgraced, for You, O Lord, are with me. In Your mighty name I pray, Amen.
