My dear friend, I am so happy to greet you this morning. Today, we are meditating on Psalm 118:7, which says, “The Lord is on my side as my helper; I shall look in triumph on those who hate me.” Yes, my dear friend, the Lord is on your side today, and He will help you in every situation. Perhaps you’re saying, “I have so many enemies around me. Everyone seems to be plotting against me, waiting for my downfall. They are eager to throw me in jail. They want me to quit my job. They want me to fail in my life.” Or you may feel, “The year is almost ending, yet I still haven’t achieved victory.” But my dear friend, God promises you today, You shall look in triumph on those who hate you.

This is exactly what David experienced. He faced countless enemies who waited eagerly for his downfall. David might have felt utterly alone in those moments, yet he held onto his confidence in God. That is why he writes with assurance, “The Lord is on my side; He is my helper.” And he boldly declares in faith, “I will look in triumph on those who hate me.” That was his experience. Think about the story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in Daniel chapter 3. The king’s officials plotted against these three men to have them thrown into a blazing furnace because of their steadfast refusal to bow to anyone but God. The officials persuaded the king to issue a command, and Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were tied up and thrown into the furnace. But something amazing happened! King Nebuchadnezzar leapt to his feet in astonishment and asked his advisors, “Weren’t there only three men that we tied up and threw into the fire?” “Yes, Your Majesty,” they replied. Then the king exclaimed, “Look! I see four men walking around in the fire, unbound and unharmed! And the fourth looks like a son of the gods.” He immediately called out, “Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, servants of the Most High God, come out! Come here!” When they came out, everyone was amazed. Not a single hair on their heads was burned, their robes were unsinged, and they didn’t even smell of smoke. The king himself declared, “Praise be to the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who sent His angel and rescued His servants!” They trusted in Him.

Yes, my dear friend, just as God stood with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego as the fourth man in the fire, He will also stand by your side. He will make you look in triumph over those who hate you. Do not be afraid. Are you feeling like people want you to fall or even die today? Do you feel that plots are being made against you? Don’t worry, my dear friend. The Lord is with you, standing by your side as your helper. You will look towards your enemies in triumph, for God Himself will give you victory. Do not be afraid. Do not be discouraged. God is with you.

PRAYER:
Loving Lord, thank You for being my helper and standing by my side. When enemies surround me, You fill me with courage and faith. Your promise of triumph gives me the strength to face every challenge. I trust in Your unfailing power to protect and guide me. Even when I feel alone, I know You are always near. Grant me peace in moments of fear and assurance in Your victory. Help me to see beyond my struggles to the triumph You have prepared. Let Your presence be my constant source of comfort and hope. I praise You, Lord, for the victory You will bring into my life. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
