My dear friend, we are meditating on the promise verse from Isaiah 60:15, which says, “I will make you the everlasting pride and the joy of all generations.” What a beautiful promise! Today, you may feel rejected by the world. Your friends may say you are useless, that you have no future. But my dear friend, remember that God will make you the everlasting pride and joy of all generations. This is exactly what happened in the life of Rahab. In Joshua 2, we read about Rahab, a prostitute. The people around her may have rejected her, but because she helped the Israeli spies and saved God’s people, God remembered her. Her name was recorded in the genealogy of Jesus, making her an everlasting pride and a joy for generations. My dear friend, because she trusted in God and helped His people, He chose her and gave her a special place in history. In the same way, even if you feel rejected, know that God has chosen you to be an everlasting pride and joy because you trust in Him.
This reminds me of the testimony of a dear brother named Uttam Kumar Nayak from Kandhamal. As a young boy, he didn’t know Jesus. In 1990, his family faced a terrible situation due to witchcraft, which led to the death of his three family members. He also became seriously ill and ran away to Bhubaneswar, seeking refuge. There, he met a servant of the Lord, who prayed for him. Miraculously, he was healed, and this experience led him to give his life to Christ. After recovering, he returned to his village, started a business, and got married. By 1995, he had four children. That same year, someone gave him a Jesus Calls magazine, and as he read the messages and testimonies, he felt called to serve God. He wrote a letter to Bro. D.G. S. Dhinakaran, and asked him for God's will concerning his life. He wrote back in one week, saying, “Pray and wait upon the Lord. The door will open for you to do ministry.” In 1998, God called him into full-time ministry. Despite financial struggles, he faithfully served the Lord. However, in 2008, tragedy struck when severe riots broke out in his village. Many were killed, houses were destroyed, and he lost everything. He managed to escape to Bhubaneswar but had no place to live, forcing him and his family to live on the streets. In 2009, a pastor invited him to stay at his home in Ranchi. While there, he heard about the Ranchi Prayer Festival, where Dr. Paul Dhinakaran was ministering. Attending the meeting with great expectations, he was deeply touched when Dr. Paul Dhinakaran suddenly said, “I see a man here. You have lost everything. The Lord will give you a house and build you up once again.” Bro. Uttam Kumar knew that prophecy was for him.
In that same meeting, Dr. Paul Dhinakaran laid hands on him and prayed. Soon after, a great miracle happened. The mother of the pastor whose home he was staying in gave him a large sum of money for a house. Overwhelmed with gratitude, he returned to his village and bought a house, just as the prophecy foretold. For the past 15 years, he has lived in that house and continued to serve the Lord. In 2016, he established a church in Bhubaneswar, where more than 200 people now worship. His entire family is involved in ministry, bringing healing and blessings to countless lives. Cancer patients have been healed, and couples who struggled to have children have been blessed through his prayers. What joy it is for him to serve the Lord as a family!
My dear friend, you may feel hopeless, bound by challenges like witchcraft, financial struggles, or the loss of your home. But when you receive Jesus into your life and serve Him wholeheartedly, God will bless you and make you an everlasting pride and joy for all generations. Just as this brother’s family has been blessed to serve the Lord, so will yours. His blessings will flow not only to you but to your children, your grandchildren, and generations to come.
So today, wait upon the Lord. Receive Him into your life, and serve Him with all your heart. Even amidst your responsibilities and challenges, serve those around you in the name of Jesus. God will fulfill His promise and make you an everlasting pride and joy for all generations. Shall we receive this promise and thank God for His faithfulness?
PRAYER:
Dear Lord, thank You for promising me that You will make me an everlasting pride and joy for all generations. Even if the world rejects and labels me as hopeless, I will still put my trust in Your unfailing love and faithfulness. Just as You lifted Rahab from rejection to honour, I believe that You have chosen me and have given me a special place in Your plan. Lord, I surrender all my struggles into Your hands. Help me to serve You wholeheartedly, even in the midst of life’s challenges. Let Your blessings flow upon me and my household, our children, and the generations to come. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
