Dear friend, we have come to the end of the month, but God’s goodness continues. Each month, each day, His goodness is enough for us. We are going to see His goodness today, just as it says in Proverbs 13:21, “Trouble pursues the sinner, but the righteous are rewarded with good things.” I remember watching a cartoon when I was little. My sister and I loved watching Tom and Jerry. Tom was a cat, and Jerry was a mouse living inside the wall of a house. The cat, Tom, would always try to lure Jerry out by placing a piece of cheese just outside his hole, but on a mousetrap. The smell of the cheese would waft into the hole, tempting Jerry to come out.

But Jerry was smart. Instead of grabbing the cheese directly, he would cleverly place some other weight on the mousetrap, freeing the cheese safely. Tom, furious, would chase Jerry around the house! Plates would fly, iron boxes would crash down, and the two of them would race across the dining table. Jerry would throw cake and jelly at Tom, who would always end up getting banged and battered by whatever Jerry tossed his way. Finally, the whole house would be a mess; everything broken and shattered. When the owner returned and saw the chaos her pet cat had caused, Tom would get a good spanking. Meanwhile, Jerry would sit happily, munching on cheese, cake, and cookies, enjoying every reward while watching Tom get disciplined.

Trouble pursues the sinner. There is no rest for the sinner. Trouble always chases him. But for the righteous, the Lord rewards with good things. You have been waiting patiently for your reward from God. Just like the little mouse, you will also be rewarded with the best. You may have been chased and chased all this while, but God sees you. He sees your righteousness even in the midst of it all. And He will surely reward you with good things.

PRAYER:
Loving Lord, as per Your promise, today, please have mercy on me. Many times, I am chased by so much evil, but thank You, Lord, for graciously helping me to preserve my faith in You, to follow Your teachings and values, and to never depart from what You have taught me. So, Lord, as Your Word says, please come right now with the reward You have prepared for me, and reward me. Grant me all the good things You have planned for my life. Everything You have kept waiting for me, add it to my life, Lord. In every area where I am lacking, let Your abundance flow and bring answers to all my prayers. I believe that You will honour me for all the troubles I have gone through. I will keep my faith in You, and I am grateful that You are about to reward me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
