Dear friend, today, God assures us through Deuteronomy 28:1, “The Lord your God will set you high above all the nations on earth.” There is another instance in the Bible where such a grand reward was promised, but not by God. When satan tempted Jesus, he took Him to a high mountaintop, showed Him all the kingdoms of the earth and their glory, and said, “Bow down and worship me, and I will give You all these kingdoms and their glory.” But Jesus refused, declaring, “You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only shall you serve.”

Similarly, when my grandfather was suffering from a severe disease, satan appeared before him and said, “Dhinakaran, if you worship and follow me, I will heal you. I will give you riches and fame.” In that moment of intense suffering, the offer seemed sweet. But then, the Lord Jesus showed him a vision of Christ carrying the cross for him. At that moment, my grandfather declared, “Satan, you promise me many things, but only Jesus gave His life for me to ensure every blessing. I will follow only Him.” And at that very instant, satan bowed and left.

Satan may offer many enticing things, but all he gives is temporary. His ultimate plan is to lure us in, only to take everything away and bring destruction. But when we choose Jesus, through His precious blood shed for us, we receive the eternal blessing of His divine inheritance. This promise that God will set you on high will surely come to pass because Jesus shed His blood for you and made you His own. He rewards those who humble themselves before Him. As the Bible says, “Those who humble themselves shall be exalted.” God will exalt you. You have waited upon Him, you have trusted in Him, and He will lift you up. Shall we now thank the Lord for this glorious promise?

PRAYER:
Dear Lord, I thank You for Your glorious promise to exalt those who humble themselves before You. Lord, I choose to worship and serve only You, for You alone are my God and my Saviour. I reject the fleeting temptations of this world and cling to the eternal inheritance You have given me through Christ. Jesus, I am forever grateful for the blood You shed for me, securing every blessing in my life. I trust in Your timing and Your plans, for You are faithful to fulfill every promise. Thank You for setting me high above, not by my own strength, but by Your grace alone. In Jesus’ name, I pray,  Amen.
