Dear friend, as in Matthew 5:8, our Lord Jesus says, "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God." In the entire chapter 5 of Matthew, the Lord mentioned nine varieties of blessings on the 'Mount of Beatitudes'. This is one of the greatest blessings we can have in this world - "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God."

How do we become pure in heart? This is a lovely invitation from Jesus to partake in the fellowship of true righteousness. If you accept this invitation from Jesus, you will truly be blessed and pure in your heart. Rather than focusing on outward purity, Jesus is advising us to focus on purity within our hearts. In Judaism, people followed ritual washing, focusing on outward purity by washing their hands, feet, and their whole bodies. They believed that this would make them pure in both body and heart. However, what Jesus truly meant was that purity should come from within. This is why David cried out to God in Psalm 51:10, "Lord, create in me a pure heart." A man may judge us based on our outward appearance, but God sees into our hearts.

Jesus once looked into the heart of an Israelite named Nathaniel. In John 1:47, Jesus said, "Here is an Israelite indeed, a true descendant of Jacob, in whom there is no guile, nor deceit, nor duplicity." God truly looks deep into our hearts, so it's important to keep our hearts clean. Then the Lord Jesus said to Nathaniel, "Very truly I tell you, you will see heaven open and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man." What a blessed life it is to see Heaven and God.

The heavens will open for you when you have a pure heart. You will behold the beauty of the Lord and have communion with God. You will taste and see that the Lord is good and see Christ with your eyes of understanding. Most importantly, you will see God in bodily form. What a blessed life it is to see Jesus face-to-face. "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God." Would you pray and receive it, dear friend?

PRAYER:
Dear loving Father, as You have promised, please open up the heavens. I desire to see you face-to-face and behold Your glory. I want to witness the angels of God ascending and descending. I pray that You make me worthy of this by cleansing me from the top of my head to the soles of my feet. Please help me to walk closely with You and always listen to Your voice. Grant me the grace to lead a life filled with purity and faithfulness in my heart. Thank You, Lord, for making me pure, clean, and righteous. Thank You for truly loving me, Lord. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
