My dear friend, today we are meditating on Jeremiah 20:11, which says, "The Lord is with me like a mighty warrior." When we read the Bible and see what was happening when Jeremiah said this, we understand the weight of his words. He was faithfully prophesying everything the Lord had spoken to him. However, the people were so deeply comfortable in their sin that they refused to listen or obey God’s commandments. Among them was a chief officer in the temple named Pashhur. When he heard Jeremiah’s prophecies, he was enraged. He wanted to silence him. So, he tortured him, beat him, and humiliated him. But even in the face of such suffering, Jeremiah boldly declared, "God is with me like a mighty warrior. The Lord is His name." He proclaimed this truth in front of everyone.
Similarly, in your home, at your workplace, or wherever you are, you may wonder, "I am doing what is right. I am doing what is good in the eyes of God. But why am I suffering? Why am I being put down? Why am I not receiving the recognition I deserve?" But even in those moments, proclaim with confidence, "The Lord is with me like a mighty warrior."
When Jeremiah made this declaration, what happened? The Lord was truly with him, fighting his battles and keeping him safe. Through miracles, God proved that He stood by Jeremiah’s side. Every prophecy Jeremiah spoke came to pass, proving that the Lord was with him.
Yes, my friend, God is with you like a mighty warrior. You may be suffering. You may be facing humiliation. You may be enduring abuse. But the Lord Himself will fight for you. Because He is not just any soldier. He is a mighty warrior! He is with you, standing by your side, and He will fight your battles. So never lower your head in defeat. Lift your eyes, for the Lord stands beside you. Would you take a moment to thank Him for this promise and pray?
PRAYER:
Dear Lord, today, I come before You with a heavy heart. I have tried to live righteously, to walk in Your ways, and to do what is right in Your eyes. Yet, I find myself facing opposition, rejection, and suffering. But Lord, I take comfort in Your promise that You are with me like a mighty warrior. I surrender my pain, my struggles, and my battles into Your hands. I trust that You will bring me through every storm, and I boldly declare with faith that You are with me like a mighty warrior. Thank You, Lord, for this promise. I receive it, claim it, and walk in it. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
