My friend, I wish you a very happy Christmas! It is a time of celebration, a time to receive the joy of Christ fully into our hearts. With this joy, let us reflect on the beautiful message from Luke 2:11, “For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, who is Christ the Lord.”
Today is the day we celebrate the birth of Christ, our Saviour. But more importantly, He desires to be truly born in our hearts as well. This is the heart of Christmas. You may wonder, why did God come into this world in the form of a man? Why did He choose to be our Saviour? It was because there was no one else who could rescue His people from the curse and guilt of sin.
When Jesus Christ looked upon humanity, He saw us suffering in darkness. He said, “Let Me be their Saviour. Let Me pull them out of this darkness.” And so, He was born as a man. As a man, He gave His life for us on the cross. He shed His precious blood, dying for us. It is through this blood that we are saved, and our sins are forgiven. In the olden days, sacrifices of animals were required for forgiveness. Every time an animal was sacrificed, God would forgive the people. But when Jesus became the ultimate sacrifice, there was no longer a need for such offerings. His sacrifice was complete and eternal.
Now, every time punishment is due for our sins, the blood of Jesus intercedes for us, saying, “No, this child is Mine. My child must be free. I have already taken the punishment.” This same blood also cleanses us from all sin and makes us new. Only the blood of Jesus has the power to wash away sin and transform us into new creations. So, today, as we celebrate this wonderful Saviour, let us open our hearts and ask Him to make us new. Will you invite Him to be born in you, my friend, and let Him be your Saviour?
PRAYER:
Dear Lord Jesus, I thank You for coming into this world to be my Saviour. Thank You for giving Your life on the cross and shedding Your precious blood for me. Today, I invite You to be born in my heart and make me a new creation. Cleanse me from all my sins with Your blood, Lord, and set me free from guilt and darkness. Let Your light shine in me and guide my path, filling my life with Your peace and joy. Help me to live a life that reflects Your love and brings glory to Your name. Thank You for interceding for me and calling me Your child. Let this Christmas be a true celebration of Your presence in my life. I surrender my heart to You completely, Lord. In Your name, I pray. Amen.
