Dear friend, today, we have a blessed promise verse taken from Psalm 122:7, "May there be peace within your walls and prosperity within your palaces." In this chapter, David encourages the pilgrims, that is, those who love Jerusalem, to pray for God's city, Jerusalem. But why should we pray for Jerusalem? In Isaiah 62:4, the Bible says it is the city of God's delight. God calls it Hephzibah, which means "My delight is in her." Jerusalem is the place where Jesus was born, where He ministered, where He was crucified, and where, after three days, He was resurrected. It is the focal point of the world because this is where Jesus will return when He comes back. That’s why we give such great importance to Jerusalem.
Both Israel and Palestine claim Jerusalem as their capital. That’s why it's often referred to as the site of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Jerusalem has been attacked 52 times and destroyed two times. This is why we should pray that the conflict ends and that all the people in Jerusalem live in peace. We must pray in the name of Jesus, the Prince of Peace. Psalm 122:6 says, “May they prosper who love you.” When we love Jerusalem and pray for the peace of Jerusalem, the Lord prospers us. In Israel, people greet each other by saying “Shalom”, which means peace. Many times after performing miracles, Jesus would say, “Go in peace.”
Once, a woman who had an issue of blood for 12 years touched the hem of Jesus’ garment. Because of her faith, she was healed. That’s why Jesus said in Mark 5:34, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.” Jesus also said to His disciples that ‘whenever you enter a house, pronounce peace over that house.’ People in Jerusalem truly long for peace, and that’s why we must pray for the peace of Jerusalem. We are so blessed to have an Israel Prayer Tower in Jerusalem, right in the city of God. In the Israel Prayer Tower, our prayer intercessors pray 24 hours a day, looking over the city and praying for peace in Jerusalem. They not only pray, but they prophesy. That’s why the Lord has blessed the Jesus Calls Ministry today. May the Lord prosper you, too. May the Lord give you peace. May peace be within your walls and prosperity within your palaces.
PRAYER:
Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You for the promise of peace and prosperity upon my life. Even now, I lift up Jerusalem, Your chosen city, the place of Your delight. Let Your peace flow through its streets and fill every home. Bring healing where there has been pain and unity where there has been division. I pray for an end to conflict and the dawning of lasting peace. Cover the land with the presence of Jesus, the Prince of Peace. As Your Word promises, prosper those who love Jerusalem and seek her peace. Let our hearts turn to You in faith and find freedom from suffering. I receive Your matchless peace and abundant prosperity within my heart and home. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
